Three of the four Americans playing at the Hong Kong 10s have survived to the Cup quarterfinals. Shalom Suniula and Naima Fualaau's Penguin team and Psalm Wooching's Scottish Exiles both made it into the next round while Malon Al-Jiboori's Samurai team will have to fight for the Bowl.
Suniula and Faulaau started every match for the defending champions Penguins as they racked up three wins. They first beat the Projecx Waterboys 17-0 before dispatching the Irish Vikings 19-5 and the Dragons 36-0. Suniula ad five total conversions on the day. Penguin will face Wooching's Scottish Exiles in the quarterfinals. The Exiles started with a 19-0 loss to Gavekal before beating Samurai 7-0 and the Gladiators 38-14.
Malon Al-Jiboori also played in every match for the Samurai but they finished third in the pool behind Gavekal and the Exiles. The lost to Gavekal 14-5, the Exiles 7-0, and then beat the Gladiators 43-0.
