All tournament the Lindenwood Lions have looked a class above their opponents running up big scores while hardly giving up any points. That continued again on Saturday as they beat Clemson 29-0 in the CRC qualifier final. The Lions, who are perennially one of the best teams at the College 7s Nationals run by U.S.A. Rugby, will now have a chance at the CRC title as well if they decide to play in both tournaments.
Lindenwood have been so good all weekend at seeing a gap and then exploiting it with explosive running. That is exactly what happened as they scored an opening try less than a minute into the match. A second and a third soon followed to give them a 15-0 lead at halftime.
Clemson did have some good possession at the end of the first half and the beginning of the second but Lindenwood were simply too strong. The Lions added two more tries to win 29-0.
