Eagles Abroad: Weekend Review

Eagles Abroad is brought to you by Grubber, makers of fine sporting apparel.

What looked like a fairly uneventful weekend for Americans heading into it turned into an interesting one as some young players got opportunities to play. Joe Taufete'e wasn't scheduled to start for Worcester but he got called in at the last minute and played the entire match as Worcester beat Bristol. That win turned out to be big as it all but guarantees Bristol relegation next season. That may not be great news for Thretton Palamo who has found himself in and out of the Bristol line-up. Also in the Premiership, Titi Lamositele was a late insertion on the bench for Saracens. Lamositele continues to be called on when needed as he takes on a bigger role with the team. Chris Wyles remains out injured. AJ MacGinty was a late scratch for Sale.

Down in France, Samu Manoa came off the bench for Toulon as they suffered another surprising defeat. He was the only American involved in France as Taku Ngwenya did not play for Brive and various reasons kept Americans out of the Pro D2.

  1. It would be cool if Palamo can hang on at Bristol with Pat Lam coming in. Not to mention a couple new capped internationals.
