With action heating up across the country this week's DI recap will be split into east and west.
It's playoff time in NorCal with both SFGG and Life West advancing to the final. SFGG finished with an unbeaten record during the regular season and that carried over into the playoffs as they beat Olympic Club 32-17. The two rivals played a close match but SFGG's experience won out. In the other semi-final the Life West Gladiators beat the EPA Razorbacks 50-27. Jay Finau started the scoring for the Gladiators. EPA hit a penalty to make it 7-3 and soon after a try to take a 8-7 lead. However, it was short-lived as Tyler Harrizon and Gui Cazenave each had tries. The Razorbacks would score to make it 19-13 for Life West at the break. In the second half Life West took off despite the match being 26-20 ten minutes into the second stanza. Anthony Munoz, Cazenave, Tookey Stevenson (twice), all had tries.

In the Pacific Northwest, ORSU maintained their momentum with a 44-12 win over the Bend Roughriders. They are 8-1 on the year and lead the division with 40 points. Behind them with 33 points but with a game in hand are the Portland Pigs. The Pigs came through with a narrow 7-5 win over the Eastside Tsunami. Also in the division the Valley Kangaroos beat Snake River 40-19.
There were a trio of big wins for the top teams in the Pacific South. Belmont Shore have inched closer to solidifying their spot in the SoCal final with a 46-22 win over the Old Aztecs. The match was pretty even between the Cal Cup rivals early on with the teams trading tries. The separation only came just before the half when Keni Nasoqeqe scored to make it 22-10 at the break. In the first ten minutes of the second half Belmont extended their lead to 34-10 before the Old Aztecs responded. The teams once again traded tries from there but Belmont had done enough for the win.
Belmont sit in first with 35 points while second place Santa Monica have 29 points. Santa Monica ran up a big 41-14 win over Pasadena. Like the Belmont Shore-Old Aztecs match the separation came in the second half. OMBAC are right behind Santa Monica with 28 points but have played two more matches. They beat the Tempe Old Devils 41-10. OMBAC need to beat Pasadena next week and then hope that Santa Monica don't pick up any points. The Dolphins have to play Belmont Shore twice as well as Los Angeles.
The Dallas Reds, Austin Blacks, and Austin Huns are duking it out for potentially two playoffs spots in the Red River. The Reds and Blacks currently lead the division with 21 points but both have played one more match than the Huns. The Reds beat HARC 62-7 and the Blacks beat the Dallas Harlequins 52-26 over the weekend.
