JWRT Qualifier Locations Set

The locations for the Junior All-Americans vs. Canada Junior World Rugby Trophy qualifying series have been set. The first match will be June 13th and the St. Albert Rugby Football Club grounds in St. Albert, Alberta. The second match will be on June 17th at Ellerslie Rugby Park in Edmonton, Albert. St. Albert is a suburb of Edmonton. The match on June 17th is the same day that Canada takes on Romania at the same location. The team with the most aggregate points after the two matches will qualify for the JWRT in Uruguay.

The last time the two teams met in Canada over a two match Series the first match was a close result but the second was a runaway Canada win. Last year in their one-off qualifier in Austin Ben Cima hit a late, long penalty to give the U.S. the win. This year the qualifying Series should come at a good time for the Junior All-Americans as it comes just at the end of the college season. The JWRT also comes at a good time to ensure that most college players will be available.
