Eagles Picked To Play Chile

Head coach John Mitchell was always going to have to make changes after his team beat Canada last week with several players returning to their clubs. That said, Mitchell has kept some veterans in the team while giving an opportunity to youngsters as the team faces Chile in the first leg of their two leg South American trip.

Nate Augspurger will captain the team from the wing. It's the third week in a row he's found himself on the wing with Shaun Davies getting the start at scrumhalf. Augspurger has done well at the position and has allowed Mitchell to get both he and Davies on the pitch at the same time. Joining Augspurger on the wing is Spike Davis who returns to the starting line-up. Mike Te'o will keep his spot at fullback.

Joining Davies in the halfbacks is Ben Cima at flyhalf. After two starts for Will Magie Cima gets another chance to prove himself. Magie is on the bench.

It shouldn't be a big shocker that Mitchell has retained JP Eloff and Bryce Campbell as his center combination. In addition to Magie, Calvin Whiting and Andrew Turner will be the backs options off the bench.

Where Mitchell has shaken things up more is in the forwards. He's broken up the Chris Baumann-Tony Purpura pairing and instead will go with Baumann and Ben Tarr. Ollie Kilifi and Purpura are on the bench. At hooker James Hilterbrand will get the nod once again with Peter Malcolm coming off the bench.

Both Nick Civetta and Nate Brakeley are back with their clubs so that means a brand new partnership in the locks. This week it goes to Matt Jense and Siaosi Mahoni. The back-row will be Todd Clever, Tony Lamborn, and Cam Dolan.

Fowards: Ben Tarr, James Hilterbrand, Chris Baumann, Matt Jensen, Siaosi Mahoni, Todd Clever, Tony Lamborn, Cam Dolan

Bench: Peter Malcolm, Tony Purpura, Ollie Kilifi, Hanco Germishuys, David Tameilau, Will Magie, Calvin Whiting, Andrew Turner
