Eagles Abroad: Weekend Review

Eagles Abroad is brought to you by Grubber, makers of fine sporting apparel.

It was a relatively quiet weekend for Americans overseas despite the return of Super Rugby. Capped Eagles Marcel Brache wasn't in the lineup for the Western Force but U.S.-eligible Toni Pulu played for the Chiefs. It's worth noting that Pulu would have to go through the Olympic loophole so it's unlikely he'll play for the Eagles. There still could be an appearance from a player like Tony Lamborn in Super Rugby this year but it would likely be later in the season and as injury cover.

Back in Europe most of the action came at the lower divisions. Eric Fry continues to earn solid time with Vannes as he came off the bench once again. In the Premiership, Titi Lamositele started for Saracens. They beat AJ MacGinty and Sale. MacGinty was called off the bench early in that one and ended up going 70 minutes with a conversion and penalty.
