DI Recap: NorCal & SoCal Heat Up

Our weekly DI recap is back!

Pacific North

Olympic Club got their DI campaign off to a great start with a 52-2 win over the Sacramento Lions. In other results the SFGG Green (the team is playing two sides in DI this year (more info here)) fell to Santa Rosa 28-22. The biggest match-up in Northern California was the showdown between Life West and the East Palo Alto Razorbacks. The Gladiators had to pull double duty with their first team playing and losing to the Glendale Raptors. Still, it worked out for Life West as they won 30-27. The Pacific Northwest teams have a few weeks off.

Pacific South

The Pacific South has been underway for a few weeks now. As things stand the Tempe Old Devils and Pasadena share the league lead with two wins. The Old Devils picked up their forfeit win over Downtown while Pasadena beat OMBAC 33-19. OMBAC fielded their second team in the match while the first team made the trip to Austin, Texas. It is expected that OMBAC will now field their first team in DI matches and should be the league leader when all is said and done.

OMBAC's fellow Cal Cup side, the Old Aztecs, picked up a win over the weekend beating Los Angeles 43-31. The win moves them to 1-2 on the season and pushes LA down to the same mark. Santa Monica and Belmont Shore were supposed to go head to head but it was rained out. \

Red River

There was one tight and one blowout win in the Red River. The tight match saw the Austin Blacks get past the Dallas Harlequins 35-27. The blowout saw the Dallas Reds beat HARC 92-5. Both the Blacks, the Reds, and the Austin Huns are unbeaten on the season.
