Women Eagles Named For Sydney 7s

Women Eagles 7s head coach Richie Walker has named his team to head to the Sydney 7s next month. The core of the team that played in Dubai returns with some veterans coming back after a break. Kelly Griffin returns to the team for the first time since playing in the Olympics while Kristen Thomas makes her return from injury suffered at the end of last year. They will join veterans Ryan Carlyle, Alev Kelter, and Nana Fa'avesi on the roster. Make her debut for the team is Sarah Buonopane who has been a standout with the Northeast Academy. Rounding out the selections are Cheta Emba, Nicole Heavirland, Naya Tapper, Kate Zackary, Kayla Canett, and Bulou Mataitoga. Nine of the players that played in Dubai are on the Sydney roster. Lilly Durbin and Hope Rogers are non-traveling reserves.

The team starts play on February 2nd when they will take on Russia, England, and Spain in pool play.
