TIAR Awards: Coach of the Year--Josh Smith

Mystic River and Northeast Academy coach Josh Smith continues to rack up the awards. In addition to being honored at the National Development Summit he has also picked up the TIAR Award for Coach of the Year. Smith beat out Paule Barford of the Ohio Aviators and Jack Clark and staff at Cal. Smith had 49% of the vote while Barford finished with 33% and Jack Clark and staff at 18%.

After leading Mystic River to the DI title and the Northeast Academy to a lot of success this year it only makes sense that Smith would pick up the award. He has crafted Mystic River into a fantastic team that loves to attack but can also stop teams when they need to. The club has established itself as the best team in the Boston area and is now an East Coast power. That's all thanks to hard work from Smith.
