The Glasgow Warriors have confirmed that Langilangi Haupeakui has left the club. In a release noting the move of prop Ryan Grant to Worcester and a few other moves the clubs said that "USA international backrower Langilangi Haupeakui has returned to the USA for family reasons." Later head coach Gregor Townsend added "“I’d like to wish Ryan (Grant), Jarrod (Firth) and Langilangi (Haupeakui) all the best for the future."
The move is certainly disappointing for the club, Haupeakui, and fans. At this point no one is 100% sure what happen nor is the club saying what happened. However, it can be very difficult for players to leave their families and the sunshine of California to head to Glasgow in the middle of winter. It's a move that doesn't work out for everyone. It's still possible that Haupeakui follows the path of David Tameilau who left Newcastle in the summer only to land in France.
