Eagles Abroad: Weekend Review

Several Americans saw their teams advance in European play as pool play finished over the weekend. The Saracens are through after they beat Toulon and will play Glasgow in the quarterfinals. Chris Wyles didn't play for Saracens but Titi Lamositele did, coming off the bench. Samu Manoa also came off the bench for Toulon. Toulon also made it to the quarterfinals and will play Clermont. Neither Greg Peterson (injured) and Langilangi Haupeakui (more info on his situation here) played for Glasgow in their win. AJ MacGinty had five penalties for Sale but they didn't make the cut.

Taku Ngwenya scored a try as Brive advanced in the Challenge Cup. They will play Bath. Blaine Scully's Cardiff is also in the quarterfinals after they beat Thretton Palamo's Bristol over the weekend. Scully started for Cardiff and Palamo came off the bench. Down in the ProD2, Eric Fry came off the bench for Vannes while David Tameilau played the full 80 for Narbonne.

British Isles:

European Champions Cup

Chris Wyles was not in the line-up while Titi Lamositele came off the bench and played 19 minutes for Saracens as they beat Toulon 10-3 on Saturday.

AJ MacGinty started, played 80 minutes, and scored five penalties for Sale as they beat Scarlets 25-23 on Saturday.

Greg Peterson and Langilangi Haupeakui were not in the line-up for Glasgow as they beat Leicester 43-0 on Saturday.

Callum Black came off the bench and played 9 minutes for Ulster as they lost to Bordeaux 22-26 on Saturday.

European Challenge Cup

Thretton Palamo came off the bench and played 38 minutes for Bristol as they lost to Cardiff 37-21 on Saturday. Blaine Scully started and played 80 minutes while Cam Dolan was not in the line-up for Cardiff.

Nick Civetta and Paddy Ryan were not in the line-up for Newcastle as they lost to the Ospreys 26-21 on Friday. Sam Underhill started and played 68 minutes for the Ospreys. He's also likely to play for England or Wales before the Eagles.

Joe Taufete'e started and played 64 minutes for Worcester as they beat Enisei 57-14 on Saturday.

RFU Championship

Ronnie McLean was not in the line-up for Richmond as they lost to Leinster A 71-17 on Friday.

National League 1

Hayden Smith and Esher beat Flyde 43-29 on Saturday.

Robbie Shaw and Hartpury beat Coventry 50-19 on Saturday.
