Several American teams are getting ready for this weekend's Barbados World 7s. The Northeast Academy has already announced their men's and women's rosters. They are just one of a number of teams also participating. The Northeast men are in Group B along with the Defense Force, Reivers, Uptight Rugby Rogues from Canada, and the Warriors. The Northeast, as winners of this tournament when it was held in Tobago, should be the favorites to win Pool B. The Rogues might be their closest competition.
In Pool A U.S. sides include Atlantis and the South Panthers. Other teams in the pool include Esher, Barbados, and Xhosa. Esher have won the tournament in the past and they are going to be tough to beat. Barbardos are playing at home and have athletes. However, both Atlantis and the South Panthers have had good 7s teams in the past and are expected to once agin. We think one of them will go through as a top two team.

On the women's side Atlantis are in Pool A just like the men's team. The Sirens one of the top teams in the U.S. and a team with Eagles on it is also in the pool. They will be with Ecosse, Aptoella from Canada, and Barbados. There is a good chance that either the Sirens or Atlantis could finish in the top two in their pool. Aptoella have been a very good team in the past and should have some up and coming Canadian players.
Pool B is made up of Phoenix, Saracens, the Dog River Howlers, Police, and the Northeast Academy. The Northeast should finish in the top two easily.
