Eagles Abroad: Weekend Review

Eagles Abroad is brought to you by Grubber, makers of fine sporting apparel.

Only two more rounds remain in the pool play stage of the Champions Cup and Challenge Cup. For some Americans they stand in a good position to move on to the next round, for others the dream is all but over. Chris Wyles and Saracens are on their way at the top of Pool C after they beat Sale. AJ MacGinty was at the center for the Sharks scoring a penalty and a conversion. Samu Manoa's Toulon are the closest to Saracens but might not make it to the quarterfinals. Glasgow are at the top of their group although Greg Peterson is still injured and Langilangi Haupeakui taking the weekend off from European play. Haupeakui did play for Stirling County scoring a try and getting a red card.

Down in the Challenge Cup Nick Civetta went another full 80 minutes for Newcastle but the Falcons aren't likely to make it through to the quarterfinals. Thretton Palamo also played another 80 minutes for Bristol but they also aren't like to go through. One team that is likely to make the quarterfinals is Brive. Taku Ngwenya ran in a couple of tries for the club.
