Eagles 7s Learn Draw For Wellington

The Eagles 7s won't take the pitch again until late January with the Wellington 7s followed by the Sydney 7s a week later. After the Cape Town 7s the Eagles learned their draw for Wellington and it's a tough one. The U.S. are in Pool C with New Zealand, France, and Samoa. All three of those teams are beatable and the Eagles have had success against them in the past but they are going to need to cut out some of the small mistakes they made in Cape Town and Dubai. The All Blacks will be the favorites to win the pool but it's important to remember that the Eagles won several straight against them last season. France has given the Eagles trouble while Samoa can be dangerous.

Through two legs the Eagles are in 8th place although tied on points with a couple of other teams. A strong showing in Wellington and Sydney will help them move up in the standings.

Pool A: England, Kenya, Argentina, 16th team
Pool B: South Africa, Fiji, Australia, Japan
Pool C: New Zealand, USA, France, Samoa
Pool D: Scotland, Wales, Russia, Canada
