WPL Recap: Regular Season Comes To A Close

Atoning for a tight, earlier loss to the San Diego Breakers beat the Glendale Raptors 45-15 to move to the top of the Blue Conference heading into the playoffs. A strong contingent of Eagles led the way for the Breakers with Dana Meschisi scoring first followed by Sam Pankey. Kyle Roth would then extend the lead to 19-0. Hannah Stolba would have a penalty for the Raptors before Pankey would add her second. Jen Lui would have a try for the Raptors but it was never close enough after that. Danielle Miano and Jordan Gray had two more tries for the Surfers and Denali Graham had one for the Raptors.

In the other matches in the WPL Red Conference leaders New York finished out their regular season perfect with a 67-0 win over the D.C. Furies and ORSU beat Berkeley 24-12. The tightest match of the weekend saw the Twin Cities Amazons beat Atlanta Harlequins 18-7. The Amazons had an early lead and fended off a comeback.

Connie Hatfield was at the Breakers-Raptors match and had some great photos.
