No Canadian Expansion For PRO Rugby

PRO Rugby will not be expanding to Canada next season. In a tweet sent out by the league a last minute change from Rugby Canada force the abandonment of the plans. No word yet on what were the last minute changes. From what TIAR understood expansion to Canada was nearly done with Vancouver and Toronto landing teams. However, expansion to Canada was complicated because it dealt with a whole other pool of players and another governing body.

Expansion is still on the cards for PRO Rugby. The intention has always been to have teams across the country and the league is in the advanced process of securing venues for teams East of the Mississippi. Still, for fans hoping to see Canada added this news will be a major disappointment.
