Eagles Abroad: Weekend Review

Eagles Abroad is brought to you by Grubber, makers of fine sporting apparel.

It was a very busy weekend for Americans overseas. Langilangi Haupeakui probably had the most interesting weekend of all the players. The former Sacramento Express player made his debut for the Glasgow Warriors over the weekend but also earned the dubious honor of being sent off. Shortly after coming into the match Haupeakui was shown a yellow for a no-wrap tackle. Soon after he came back on he was shown a second for a similar offense. However, after the match his teammates and coaching staff were quick to come to his defense saying the second yellow was weak.

Outside of Haupeakui Blaine Scully also had a good week as he scored a try for Cardiff. Cam Dolan also got the start in that match and played significant minutes. Chris Wyles also got on the scoresheet scoring a try for Saracens. Over in Ireland Trinity continue to roll with Pierce Dargan being at the center of the action. The team has now moved to the top of the table and is getting a lot of national attention.

Lastly, just as a reminder to those who are curious, it's our policy to keep track of players as long as they are U.S.-eligible, even if it's unlikely they'll play for the Eagles.

  1. The day Langilangi got signed and was announced on this website, I wrote he was going to rack up yellow cards playing in the UK. So far, he has not disappointed!

    1. Langilangi was cleared of both yellow cards in a disciplinary panel earlier today. He is clear to play this weekend against the Scarlet if selected.

  2. FYI- I hear the Ostberg kid has been training with the Eagles in Chula Vista since being in Urguay and is now headed back to France to help out his team, Aurillac.
