Brache Back With Force In 2017

Newly capped Eagle Marcel Brache will be returning to the Western Force next year. Since signing with the club in 2014 from Western Province in his native South Africa (he was born in Los Angeles) he has made nearly 50 appearances for the team as well as matches for the Perth Spirit in the National Rugby Championship. Brache was in particular a consistent part of the Force this season. So much so that it seems the team is willing to keep him even though he was signed with the aim of becoming Australia-eligible (it's how the Force are able to sign more foreign players that other Australian teams).

Brache of course made his debut for the Eagles over the weekend making him just a small number of capped Eagles to appear in the competition. Prior to the last few years only Todd Clever had played Super Rugby while capped for the Eagles now that list includes Brache, Tony Lamborn, Andrew Durutalo, and James Hilterbrand.
