ARP: NYAC Seals First, Old Blue Beat Mystic River

Old Blue have sealed up second place in the ARP with a 32-25 win over Mystic River. Old Blue got out to a 6-0 lead thanks to two penalties from Stephan Rossouw. He's done a good job filling in for James Bird at fly-half. Still, Mystic River have been a thriving team and it showed as they hit a penalty of their own and the game's first try to take a 10-6 lead. However, it wouldn't last as a try from Michael St. Claire counterbalanced a penalty from Mystic River and the two teams headed into halftime at 13-13.

In the second half both teams continued to slug it out. Tries from David Shotton, Connor Wallace-Sims, and Derek Lipscomb would extend the lead for Old Blue to 32-13. Without much time left on the clock it looked as if Old Blue would stroll to the win but in taking their foot off the gas they allowed Mystic River to score twice to make it close.

In the other match in the league NYAC won yet again, this time a 81-29 win over the Boston Irish Wolfhounds. NYAC will finish at the top of the standings but still face off against Mystic River in a big match next weekend. Old Blue finishes out against Boston who are guaranteed to finish at the bottom of the table.
