The official announcement from the league reads: "As we start the cycle for PRO Rugby's second season, effective immediately, PRO Rugby's Director of Rugby Steve Lewis will be leaving PRO Rugby to pursue other opportunities. PRO Rugby thanks Steve for his efforts and contributions in its inaugural season. PRO Rugby wishes Steve the best in his future endeavors.
"PRO has already begun the search for a Chief Operations Officer. We anticipate that our new COO will work hand-in-hand with USA Rugby and PRO's coaches to build and develop PRO's rugby program. PRO looks forward to utilizing our collective brain power in building PRO to become the most exciting rugby competition in the world.--Doug Schoninger."

ReplyDeleteCould we stop calling it "PRO Rugby"? The name PRO stands for Professional Rugby Organization, so you extra 'Rugby' is rather redundant. It's like when people call it an ATM machine, when ATM stands for Automatic Teller Machine.
ReplyDeleteWell, PRO Rugby is the officialname, even if there is a redundant rugby.
DeletePRO Rugby is a perfectly legitimate name
DeleteSteve is a quality person and rugby guy. This is not a good sign for PRO, and probably a good thing for Steve.
