Eagles Abroad: Weekend Preview

Eagles Abroad is brought to you by Grubber, makers of fine sporting apparel.

Langilangi Haupeakui could have a massive weekend if things go his way. The big forward is going to get his opportunity to make his debut for Glasgow today as they face Benetton Treviso. The club has been patient with him so far and unless it's a blowout he probably won't see a lot of minutes but the fact that he is going to get game time is a big plus for him. Also getting game time this weekend is Cam Dolan. He's earned a spot in the Cardiff starting line-up alongside Blaine Scully as they play the Scarlets. Dolan has been playing well for the Cardiff Premiership Select and his gaining time here is also a good sign. Also players to get the start include Chris Wyles, Ronnie McLean, and others. Eric Fry, who just made the move to Vannes, is on the bench for the club.

  1. Was listening to a Manchester based Rugby Podcast and it mentioned that AJ is still fighting his injury from the beginning of the season. They are resting him to get him back to 100% as opposed to playing him still partially injured like they did a couple of weeks back.

Good to know he isn't getting passed over in selection.

  2. Looks like Langilangi picked up two yellow cards, one for some kind of goal line infringement and one for a no arms tackle. However, it also sounds like he played a nice role in a try as well, and the no arms tackle was questionable. The Warriors twitter mentioned he got a warm reception as he left, so it appears he showed a nice mix of skills and physicality in his debut!
