ARP Recap: NYAC Beat Mystic River, Old Blue Win Big

The ARP had another strong weekend with NYAC taking on Mystic River in a battle of two top teams. NYAC went on to win 27-22 to stay at the top of the table. Here is the write up from NYAC:
On Saturday the NYAC traveled to Boston for the third time in a month to take on the defending D1 National Champions Mystic River.

The match was an extremely physical encounter and Mystic River were well prepared to defend their national title. Through sustained pressure Mystic drew first blood with a try in the 3rd minute. This served as a wake-up call for the NYAC who responded quickly with 7 points of their own after some slick ball handling down the right hand touchline. Mystic kept the pressure on, and had the upper hand at the half 17-10.

A few minor adjustments by NYAC during the break quickly tied the game up, and the team from New York City was finally able to take the lead back 10 min in. NYAC would extend the lead to 27-17 with 10 minutes to play, but  Mystic River would not go quietly. Mounting a frenzied late comeback, and keeping the result in question until the final whistle. NYAC, able to hold off the attack secured a 27-22 victory, and with the win moves to 4-0 in league play at the halfway point of the season.
The team will host Life Saturday, 15 October at 3:00pm. Travers Island, NY
