Taku Ngwenya Headed To Brive

Taku Ngwenya is headed back to France and the Top 14 after signing with Brive on a medical joker. Ngwenya spent nine years with Biarritz, seven of those in the Top 14, after signing with the team after his breakout performance at the 2007 World Cup. During that time he scored 50 tries in the Top 14 and 18 in the Heineken Cup. The last two seasons were spent with Biarritz in the Pro D2. An injury to Alfie Maki opened up a spot for Ngwenya.

Ngwenya of course spent the last season with San Diego where he made a handful of appearances. It would have been more but but his head injury suffered against Italy while playing for the Eagles limited his time. Part of the reason for coming back to play in the States was to spend time with his family. He has two brothers who lived relatively close to San Diego, both serving in the Army.
