Eagles Abroad: Weekend Review

Eagles Abroad is brought to you by Grubber, makers of fine sporting apparel.

AJ MacGinty scored his first points in Premiership rugby while other Americans got their seasons started on high notes over the weekend. Macginty started and played 40 minutes for Sale. He kicked a penalty but it wasn't enough for the Sharks to beat Newcastle. None of the trio of Americans at Newcastle played for the club. Also not seeing time over the weekend was Thretton Palamo for Bristol and Chris Wyles and Titi Lamositele for Saracens. Wyles and Palamo have been pre-occupied by the Olympics so it's no surprise they wouldn't play over the weekend.

Over in the Pro12 Blaine Scully started and played a full 80 minutes for Cardiff while Cam Dolan was a late substitute off the bench. That's a great start for both players in terms of seeing time. Also seeing time was Ronnie McLean in the RFU Championship for the first time this year. In France, Samu Manoa didn't play for Toulon while Gagi Bazadze played for Montpellier. Lastly, Chris Baumann started for Wellington once again and Pasqualle Dunn played for Auckland.
