Eagles Abroad: Weekend Review

Eagles Abroad is brought to you by Grubber, makers of fine sporting apparel.

Things are starting to get rolling once again in both the Southern Hemisphere and in Europe as the the Top 14 and the Mitre 10 Cup both started. In France, Samu Manoa was a second half substitute for Toulon as they lost their opener. Given the number of stars on the team it's a bit of a surprise but they have gone through struggles in the past. Also, Gagi Bazadze, who signed on a medical joker, wasn't used but in the line-up for Montpellier. Also in Europe Nick Civetta scored a try for Newcastle in their pre-season match.

Down in the Southern Hemisphere it was Eagle vs. Eagles as Wellington and Hawke's Bay went head to head. Chris Baumann hasn't been in New Zealand long but he started for Wellington as they won. Tony Lamborn also got the start but played the full 80 minutes for Hawke's Bay. Toni Pulu and Pasqualle Dunne were not involved for their respective teams.

1 comment:

  1. Apparently the lads in the Sale Sharks (MacGinty) are working hard, as they won both of their preseason games, one against Edinburgh. MacGinty played in both, started in the second.
Sale season starts Sept 2nd against Newcastle. Can't wait!
