Sternberg Picked To Lead RIM

It was only a couple of weeks ago that Nigel Melville announced he was leaving RIM and U.S.A. Rugby (previously announced) to take a position in England. After a short search RIM has moved fast to fill the vacancy by appointing David Sternberg as the CEO of RIM and The Rugby Channel on a one-year contract.

Sternberg has been involved in RIM and The Rugby Channel from the start helping set up The Rugby Channel. By appointing him as CEO it helps keep some continuity while continuing the search for a potential long-term solution. Sternberg may be that long term solution.  The 47 year old is a graduate of Princeton and UCLA and will work out of RIM headquarters in New York.

I look forward to continuing the work begun by Nigel and the RIM Board to build a potent commercial entity in the world of rugby,” said Sternberg in a release. “The sport is riding a tremendous wave of growth in this country, and with its unique sponsorship, event marketing and multi-platform media assets RIM is perfectly positioned to capitalize on that trend.”
