PRO Rugby Power Rankings: More Teams Swap Places

There is another change in our power rankings this weekend and it comes at the bottom. San Francisco move up after showing something against Denver while Sacramento slide down. Denver remain at the top and after a big debate San Diego and Ohio stay put.

1. Denver (5-0-0; LW: 1; beat San Francisco 41-37): Obviously no reason to drop Denver after yet another win. They are definitely looking like the team to beat although San Francisco did show that it is going to be difficult for Denver to be unbeaten on the year. They will be happy scoring 41 points but will probably be upset giving up nearly that much.  Up next: Bye

2. San Diego (3-1-0; LW: 2; Bye): They had last weekend off to rest up and get ready for Sacramento this weekend. They did slip one spot in the standings but can make that up this weekend.    Up next: Sacramento

3. Ohio (3-2-0; LW: 3; beat Sacramento 50-17): We were really tempted to boost Ohio up this week after another victory in which they scored 50 points. Ohio are coming on well but that loss to San Diego still looms big.   Up next: San Francisco

4. San Francisco (0-5-0; LW: 5; lost to Denver 41-37): Even though San Francisco still don't have a win on the year they were much improved against Denver. It was enough to show us that they should move up in our power rankings. Now with Mils Muliaina ready to play they should have more confidence.  Up next: Ohio

5. Sacramento (1-4-0; LW: 4; lost to Ohio 50-17): We moved Sacramento down after yet another loss. Their depth is being tested at the moment and they need a lot more on offense. They still are doing lots of things well and will get a rematch against San Diego this weekend but if they lose for a fifth time there will be danger signs. Up next: San Diego
