Opening Kick

Opening Kick is a segment devoted to bringing you all Eagles and U.S.A. Rugby news in one location. It is brought to you everyday by Rugby Marketplace, your independent rugby store

National Teams/PRO Rugby:

The Eagles didn't defend their London 7s title but they did beat Fiji for third place.

They probably could have made the final had they not had a poor couple of minutes against Scotland. However, they did destroy New Zealand in the Cup quarterfinals.

In pool play they beat Samoa, lost to South Africa, and then drew with Canada.

Ohio showed once again why they are one of the favorites with a big win over Sacramento. Denver beat Sacramento last Friday. We'll have a recap later on.

The Women Falcons won the London Invitational while the Men Falcons didn't do too badly themselves at their tournament.

The Club Championships are set. The Austin Blacks are back to the Men's DI final while the Seattle Saracens are back to defend their Women's DI crown. We've got a full recap of day two's action.

We also have recaps from the West Regional and East Regional on day one.

Tony Pacheco has left Central Washington. He guided the team into varsity status.

England have named their squad for their summer tour.

Scotland gave the middle finger to Great Britain selectors by winning the London 7s and beating England along the way.

New Zealand coach Steve Hansen is set to get a new contract.

Saracens and Exeter have advanced to the Premiership final. Connacht and Leinster have done the same in the Pro12.

Any injury to Ayumu Goromaru has him out for four months.
