Baker Makes Dream Team, Falcons Finish Third In Paris

Perry Baker can add another accolade to his mantle after being named to the 2015-16 World Series Dream Team. Baker was second on the Series with 48 tries and was fifth overall in scoring (Madison Hughes was first). He only trailed fellow Dream Teamer Seabelo Senatla in the try scoring category. Both South Africa and Fiji led the way with two selections a piece. IN addition to Senatla, Kwagga Smith also represents the Blitzbokke. Jasa Veremalua and Osea Kolinisau represent Fiji. Virimi Vakatawa is a no-brainer selection from France. Baker and Faalemiga Selesele from Samoa round out the team. Baker also made the Dream Team in London.

Falcons Finish Third In Paris

The Falcons were also busy over the weekend at the Howard Hinton 7s in Paris. The team went 2-1 in pool play with wins over France CBL and Australian outfit Tribe but lost to Germany. In the quarterfinals they got by a tough Serevi Selects side 15-14. The Selects were lead by Waisale Serevi and were made up of Fijian players. In a physical match the U.S. responded to come away with the win.

That set up a match against a French University in the semi-finals. Two early mistakes put the Falcons down 12-0 but the U.S. were able to rattle off two tries to lead 14-12. Unfortunately calls didn't go their way the rest of the way to lose 24-14. They then beat the New Zealand Selects 24-19 for third place.
