Sacramento Names Starters For Inaugural Match

Sacramento head coach Luke Gross has named his starting line-up for the team's inaugural match on Sunday against San Francisco. As expected, the team will carry in an experienced front-row with Seattle pair Val Lee-Lo and Ollie Kilifi at the props and Canadian Ray Barkwill had hooker. Santa Rosa's Robert Meeson and former Cal play Siona Sina are the locks. The team will also have a powerful back-row with capped Eagles John Quill, who will also captain the team, and Kyle Sumsion at the flanker positions. Sione Latu will be the Number 8.

There were some questions as to who was going to get the starting nod at the halfback coming into the match and that's been answered with Jope Motokana at scrumhalf and Harry Bennett at fly-half. Bennett was outstanding for fly-half for Santa Monica and should provide a spark for the team. Ryan Thompson and Rashad Harbor will be the wings with Garrett Brewer at fullback. Alipate Takiveikata and Mirco Bergamasco will be the centers.

Forwards: Val Lee-Lo, Ray Barkwill, Ollie Kilifi, Robert Meeson, Sione Sina, Kyle Sumsion, John Quill (C), Sione Latu

Backs: Jope Motokana, Harry Bennett, Ryan Thompson, Alipate Takiveikata, Mirco Bergamasco, Rashad Harbor, Garrett Brewer

Bench: Josh Inong, Toke Kefu, Kali Tavaki, Rich Knight, Langilangi Haupeakui, Chris Saint, Nemia Qoro, Ryan Keowler
