Orene Ai'i has been announced by PRO Rugby as their latest international signing. The former IRB World Sevens Player of the Year has been playing with Life West in recent years and is familiar with American rugby. He'll join up with the San Francisco team, which has current Life West head coach Adriaan Ferris as an assistant coach. Prior to playing for Life West he played for Northland, the Blues, Toyota Verblitz in the Top League, and Toulon.
Ai'i joins a list of international signees that now includes Mirco Bergamsco (Sacramento), Pedrie Wannenburg (Denver), and Phil Mackenzie (San Diego). There are a number of international signees still to come, including players from Europe, Canada, and the Southern Hemisphere. Additionally, domestic players are also set to be announced very soon.
