EPA Razorbacks, Santa Rosa Play To A Draw

BY BRAD ZIGLER

Off their home pitch on a rain-soaked Saturday afternoon,Santa Rosa slogged to a 17-17 draw against the East Palo Alto Razorbacks. The 'Backs had a clean sheet going into the halftime interval at Santa Rosa's Elsie Allen High School only to face a Rosa scoring flurry in the second stanza.

First, Rosa's Tom Towers dotted down in the game's 42nd minute. Then Willie Tamaibeka touched down the first of his two tries on the day from the back of an ensuing  scrum. Rosa's golden boot Justin Stine converted to knot the scoreline at 12.  After the Rosa men took a 17-12 lead on Tamaibeka's next try, the Razorbacks' answered back with a try of their own in the 70th minute.

Rosa looked to end the game in their favor with a scrum five meters out but a dropped ball kept them out of the try zone.
