DI Recap: Mid-Atlantic Gets Going

Despite several leagues taking a break for the Vegas 7s the kickoff of much of the Spring season on the East Coast made it so that some club rugby was played over the weekend.

After a long winter slumber the Mid-Atlantic got back underway with NOVA and the Baltimore-Chesapeake Brumbies going head to head. NOVA struggled in the Fall and that continued on Saturday as they lost 50-10 to a strong Brumbies team. Colby Buss (twice), John Sharkey, Robert Barberi (twice), and Chris Moylan all had tries while Patrick Foley and William Trentzsch chipped in with the kicking duties.

It was non-league action but Rocky Gorge who had a perfect record in the Spring, got their season back underway with a 36-33 win over NYAC in a friendly. Another crossover match saw Old Blue beat Schuylkill River 50-16.

Pacific South

The Pacific South had the weekend off. With half the season played for most teams the Old Aztecs are in first place with Belmont Shore and OMBAC right behind them. The Old Aztecs and Belmont have a game in hand on OMBAC.

Pacific North

The Pacific North was also idle. With four matches left in the competition the Life West Gladiators and Santa Rosa are perfect on the season and won't be caught in their respective divisions.

Red River

Another idle conference. Right now the April 30th meeting between the Austin Blacks and Dallas Reds is looking like a regular season champion decider.
