Australian, Italian Internationals Sign With PRO Rugby

PRO Rugby has added two more internationals to their list of players for their inaugural season. Dual code Australian international Timana Tahu will play for Denver while Italian international Filippo Ferrarini will play for Ohio. The 35-year old Tahu took 2015 off from rugby but is back and looking to bring his experience to Ohio. He's played mainly rugby league but did earn four caps for Australia in 2008-9 and played 20 matches with the Waratahs during that same period. Ferrarini is coming straight into the team having played for Zebre since 2012. He played for Italy A in the 2013 Nations Cup. He has also played for Parma and Aironi. Ferrarini is a flanker while Tahu is a center.

PRO Rugby is pleased to announce the signing of Australian dual code legend Timana Tahu to play for Denver in the inaugural 2016 PRO Rugby season. Tahu was born in Melbourne, Australia and had a standout rugby league career with the Newcastle Knights, Parramatta Eels, and Penrith Panthers before switching to Union with the NSW Waratahs, followed by a return to league with Newcastle. He has represented his country with both the Kangaroos (league) and the Wallabies (union) as well as the New Zealand Maori and the Indigenous All-Stars.

Ferrarini was born in Parma, Italy and had spells with his hometown team and Aironi before playing professionally with European PRO 12 team, Zebre. Just 25 years old, Ferrarini is a hard-nosed flanker who has also worn the colors of Italy A in his short career.
