PRP Power Rankings: Shaking Things Up

The Glendale Raptors and the SFGG Rhinos are one again one and two in our rankings. There is a growing divide between those two teams and the rest of the field.

1. Glendale Raptors (3-0-0, Last Week: 1; beat Santa Monica 52-0): Definitely no reason to knock Glendale this week. The Raptors were fantastic in their win over the Dolphins and are definitely in first place early on in the season. They've been on the road four straight weeks if you count their pre-season match against Seattle and have endured national team call-ups. However, that doesn't seem to be impacting the side as they are on a major roll. Up next is their big match against SFGG. Up next: SFGG

2. SFGG Rhinos (3-0-0; LW: 2; beat Denver Barbarians 36-7): Like Glendale, the Rhinos have been on a roll to start the season. They have had a very strong defensive effort so far only giving up 39 points. That defense is going to be tested in a major way next week against the Raptors. Up next: Glendale Raptors.

3. OMBAC (2-1-0; LW: 4; beat Olympic Club 37-17): We moved OMBAC up this week because they rebounded really well after their disappointing loss to Glendale the week prior. It's looking like there is a gap between Glendale and SFGG and the rest of the field but a strong statement from other teams, like OMBAC, could change that. Up next: Bye

4. Belmont Shore (1-1-0; LW: 3; bye): It's a big harsh to bump Belmont Shore in a bye week but OMBAC made a move. Up next: Santa Monica

5. Olympic Club (0-3-0; LW: 6; lost to OMBAC 37-17): We agree that moving up Olympic Club after another loss doesn't make a lot of sense. However, Olympic Club aren't playing horribly at the moment and are missing some key players. Expect them to get even better as the season moves along. Up next: Denver Barbarians

6. Santa Monica (0-3-0; LW: 7; lost to Glendale Raptors): The Dolphins certainly didn't impress against the Raptors as their strong attack was shut out. Defensively they continued to have problems. Up next: Belmont Shore

7. Denver Barbarians (0-2-0; LW: 5; lost to SFGG 36-7): It's not been a great start to the season for the Barbarians. They've scored a total of 10 points while giving up 82. They did get Max De Achaval back but unless than can fix things quick they are in for a long year. Up next: Olympic Club
