Ostberg Into Aurillac First Team; More PRO Rugby Contracts

Christian Ostberg has had an adventurous time in Europe over the past few seasons in an attempt to get playing time at a higher level. First it was a stint in the Italian lower divisions and then a quick trip to a similar level in England. This year he made the move to Aurillac in the PRO D2 in France where he has been playing with the academy. This weekend will mark a new stage in his career as he's been named to the bench for Aurillac's first team match against Lyon.

A former All-American star Ostberg was on the radar for the Eagles ARC squad and it was a bit of a surprise he didn't get a call in. However, with his promotion it makes sense that he would have stayed behind in order to work his way into the first team. If he can keep his spot in the line-up expect him to be a contributor to the Eagles in the near future.

More PRO Rugby Contracts

Word of additional PRO Rugby contracts has also trickled in. Chris Kunkel, a star for the James Madison team that excelled in both 7s and 15s over the last few years, has been offered a contract. A halfback Kunkel will provide good depth for any team.

Another player linked with PRO Rugby having posted on social media is Lindenwood's Sebastian Kalm. The big lock has been linked to the Ohio side. He's from Chile and could be a major player for the Condors going forward but he's also been an All-American and is U.S.-eligible.

Other players have been strongly linked with PRO Rugby, including some stars from this year's Junior All-Americans.
