Gross Picked To Lead Sacramento PRO Side

Former Eagle and current U.S.A. Rugby administrator Luke Gross has been tabbed as the head coach of the new Sacramento PRO Rugby team. As one of the all time Eagle greats Gross brings plenty of experience with the national team as well as in professional environments in England, Wales, and Italy with clubs like Harlequins, Rovigo, Scarlets, and Newcastle. Originally a basketball player at Marshall University he turned to rugby and found a lot of success.

Gross has been the High Performance Player Development Manager for U.S.A. Rugby for the last several years. In that capacity he has helped at Eagles and All-Americans camps, earning a reputation as a solid coach. He joins Paul Keeler (San Francisco) as the first two coaches in league history. More announcements should follow soon.

PRO Rugby Director of Rugby Steve Lewis told TIAR, "“We are delighted to welcome Luke on board with PRO Rugby. He is a big figure literally and figuratively in American rugby, and shares our passion to grow the game. His experience as a professional player abroad dovetails well with his knowledge of the American rugby landscape and I believe he will be a great addition."
