Battle Named Assistant In Sacramento

Yesterday PRO Rugby announced that Luke Gross was going to be the head coach of the Sacramento team. Today the organization added to that by announcing that Kevin Battle would be an assistant coach. Battle is the Commissioner of DI-A and has led UC-Santa Barbara and has been involved with the Eagles. PRO Rugby is expected to announce more assistant coaches soon. From what TIAR understands head coaches are a year long position but assistant coach roles last through the season.

Here is the announcement from PRO Rugby:
PRO Rugby is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Battle as Assistant Coach for the Sacramento team in PRO Rugby’s 2016 inaugural season. Over the past 16 years, Battle has committed himself to growing rugby at every level. He has served as Coach of the USA Falcons and Hawks, the Southern California Junior and Senior Griffins, Assistant Coach for USA Men’s U-20 National Team, and Head Coach and Director of Rugby at the University of California-Santa Barbara. He has also held a variety of managerial and administrative roles within the rugby community and is currently the Commissioner of 40 D1-A College Rugby teams.
