TIAR Awards, Youth Player of the Year: Hanco Germishuys

Although it was a down year for the Junior All-Americans as a team for several individuals on the team it was a strong year, including Ben Cima, Louis Mulholland, Seth Halliman, and Fitou Fisiiahi. We could see several of those players move up to the full Eagles soon as the team gets ready for the next cycle. That said, Hanco Germishuys is one player who seems destined to be a star for the Eagles sooner rather than later. The back-row player not only has all the physical tools to succeed but he has a terrific rugby brain and a nose for the ball that is hard to to teach.

Germishuys has bounced around a bit over the last year or so but it's only to continually challenge him with better game time. He's spent time in the Gloucester academy, the Sharks academy, won a PRP title with Glendale, and most recently spent time with the Taranaki academy. At every stop coaches rave about him as a player. As anyone who watched the Junior All-Americans JWRT qualifying series against Canada saw, Germishuys was the best player on the pitch for both teams. He tried to pick up the JAA's were down and almost single-handily kept them alive. All in all, fans should take comfort in knowing Germishuys will be around for years.

All TIAR Awards are brought to you by Canterbury USA. For all your team gear as well as replica jerseys make sure to check them out.  #CommittedToTheGame
