TIAR Awards, Young Overseas Player of the Year: Titi Lamositle

By picking Titi Lamositele as our Young Overseas Player of the Year award it may seem like we're cheating a bit. After all, Lamositele has been on the U.S. radar for years earning his first cap back in 2013 and a contract with Saracens in 2014. However, it's important to remember that Lamositele still hasn't turned 21 and won't do so until February. By any account that's young even with all his accomplishments.

We've said it before but it's worth repeating, when all is said and done not only could Lamositele be the most capped Eagles of all-time (he's already got more than 15 caps and a couple of tries) but he could go down as one of the greatest Eagles of all-time depending on how things shake out. 2015 only showed how important he was to the Eagles. When he was in he was a solid presence for the side and played well beyond his years. Prop has been an area of concern for awhile for the Eagles so the fact that they have Lamositele available for years to come has to be a comfort to fans.

Take the jump to read more.
At the World Cup and throughout the rest of the year Lamositele was outstanding for the Eagles. His scrummaging is improving nicely but it's his work defensively and finding space offensively that is starting to set him apart. He's truly becoming a well rounded player.

Still, this award isn't named the best young Eagle, it's for the best young overseas players. Without question that was Lamositele this last year. He made his full debut for Saracens last Spring and this Fall he's seen more and more time for the club. Given the number of full internationals on the team from Tier I nations the fact that Lamositele can continue to earn time and respect from the coaching staff is huge. We think he's just a year or two away from being a full-time starter. For a player who can't legally drink in the United States, that's big.
