Opening Kick

Opening Kick is a segment devoted to bringing you all Eagles and U.S.A. Rugby news in one location. It is brought to you everyday by Rugby Marketplace, your independent rugby store

We've got you covered for your holiday shopping with our annual holiday gift guide. Included are discounts to several retailers.

National Teams/PRO Rugby:

The Eagles 7s had a mixed weekend in Cape Town. They ran through Wales and Portugal on day one before falling to Australia.

On day two they lost to a strong Kenyan team, beat New Zealand for the third time in a row, and then lost to Fiji in a frustrating Plate final.

The team will now have the holidays off before regathering for the Wellington 7s. The U.S. have been drawn with France, England, and Samoa in a very tough pool.

Scott LaValla has officially announced his retirement after months of speculation.

Delaware has officially rejoined the Rugby East.

Texas high school player Bronson Teles is getting some positive mention in the local news.

UCLA beat crosstown rival USC by a big margin.

The BC Bears will be taking on an England Counties XV and Otago next year.

Eddie Jones has chosen not to retain Andy Farrell, Mike Catt, and Graham Rowntree.

Alex Corbisiero is set to take a year off from rugby.
