Mike Lawrenson To Coach Palmer

As the saying goes, every time one door closes, another opens. That's definitely true in the case of Mike Lawrenson. After earning a contract and seeing playing time with Counties Manukau in the ITM Cup a blood clot in practice put Lawrenson in hospital for a couple weeks and sidelined him from playing rugby for the time being, he's been announced as the head coach at Palmer.

Still, Lawrenson isn't staying idle as it was announced that he has been named the head coach at Palmer. Lawrenson played a Palmer for a time being after graduating from Kutztown. "I've played rugby around the world, yet there has always been something special to me about Palmer Rugby. I am honored and humbled at the confidence in my ability to make this program as successful as it deserves to be and am excited about the project that has been entrusted to me. We're a family of future doctors and I hope to restore the brotherhood while providing a platform for the men to play their best and most enjoyable rugby." said Lawrenson in a press release. Hopefully he can also get back out on the pitch soon as he eemed to be playing well with the Steelers and had a future with the Eagles.
