Eagles Abroad: Weekend Review

Eagles Abroad is brought to you by Grubber, makers of fine sporting apparel.

It wasn't the most adventurous weekend for Americans overseas with the regulars seeing most of the time.  One player that did see good time was AJ MacGinty who started for Connacht in Pro12 play. He played the first 45 minutes before coming off. Having a American fly-half gain the confidence of his coach and get good playing time is going to be big for the Eagles. Other players to start include Chris Wyles and Blaine Scully. Greg Peterson and Titi Lamositele came off the bench for their respective teams.  Several more players will see action today with Lamositele set to start for the Saracens Storm in the "A" League. Also, the entire American contingent at Newcastle will also see time.

Down in France, Dave Ryan and Samu Manoa both saw time in the Top 14. It will be interesting to see if Ryan gets another bite at the Eagles. He was invited to camp a few years back but turned it down to land a contract in Italy. The Eagles coaching staff at the time understood his decision. He had to be on track to be Italy-eligible for that contract. Then he moved to Ireland under similar circumstances. Now in France he doesn't have the same kind of constraints.
