Eagles Abroad: Weekend Review

Eagles Abroad is brought to you by Grubber, makers of fine sporting apparel.

A couple of Americans played central roles for their teams in European play over the weekend. Chris Wyles continues to get a good run of matches for Saracens. He started and scored a try for the Sarries as they beat Ulster. Elsewhere, Blaine Scully started for Cardiff but couldn't help them survive a loss to the Harlequins. Samu Manoa also started in the Champions Cup. In the British & Irish Cup, Cam Dolan and Thretton Palamo both went the full 80 minutes as their two teams clashed. Palamo and London Welsh came out ahead in that meeting. Tom Bliss also started in the competition. Down a rung, Robbie Shaw's Hartpury, Ronnie McLean's Richmond, and Derek Lipscomb's Blackheath sit one, two, and three in the National League One with one of those teams highly likely to gain promotion at the end of the year. Lastly, some teams in France and Ireland had the weekend off.

  1. Me thinks it is time for Saracens to loan out Lamisotele. He had a very good World Cup but not playing is going to simply slow that development down. Get him in a set up where he is playing routinely. At 20 years old he has plenty of time .. let the guy develop by playing on a routine basis.
