Eagles Abroad: Weekend Review

Eagles Abroad is brought to you by Grubber, makers of fine sporting apparel.

Despite the World Cup sucking most of the Americans overseas away from their teams and most of the leagues in Europe taking a break it was an eventful weekend. It begins in Ireland where a trio of Americans--Conor Kearns, Kingsley McGowan, and Tim Maupin--were all involved for Trinity as they beat St. Mary's College. There are a number of Americans at the team and it wouldn't be surprising to see some of them called in during the next year. Also in Europe, Christian Ostberg played against Saracens in a friendly. It was a pre-season warm-up for the Saracens but was a chance for Ostberg to show what he can do as Aurillac were in a Pro D2 break. Down in the Southern Hemisphere the season is over for the Americans at Counties Manukau. Mike Lawrenson saw some time with the team but also picked up an injury. Things should pick up for Americans overseas next week as league's resume play.
