Peterson Signs With Leicester

The Premiership now has it's tenth American as Greg Peterson has signed with Leicester. We broke the news a few weeks back that he was on trial and The Leicester Mercury confirmed today that he has a contract that runs through the end of the season. Peterson was most recently the captain of the North Harbour Rays in the National Rugby Championship and had been a part of the larger Waratahs group in previous seasons making one five minute appearance. He was of course capped for the Eagles in November making three appearances. Peterson has a connection to Leicester through defense coach Phil Blake who was also at Manly with Peterson.

  1. besides being in a highly competitive environment day in and day out, there is an outside chance that he could establish himself as a solid back-up. leicester have yet to really settle on a lock pairing with kitchener really the only one to stake out a steady starting position. playing time is there for him, and he might of found his way into a good position.

do you see (or have you heard) anybody else getting overseas looks come early next year?
