NYAC add Millard to staff

Current Connacht backs coach Billy Millard will leave his position at the end of the season to join NYAC. He will reportedly be coaching their backline as well as their 7's team. Millard is the former 7's coach for Australia. He also has plenty of experience as a 15's coach as the head coach of Sydney University and the Melbourne Rebels.

In a statement Millard said: "I would like to thank the coaching, conditioning and medical staff for their support and friendship over the last two seasons. In particular, I would like to thank Eric (Elwood). He is a special person and I have learnt many things from him both on and off field. Finally, I'd like to wish the club all the best for the future and I will make it back for a game or two next season."

The hiring is a huge pick-up for NYAC as they look to not only provide good coaching for backs Mike Petri, Toby L'Estrange, and Chris Chapman, but also to take 7's more seriously. Millard's hiring also comes about a month after OPSB hired former international Justin Fitzpatrick. The ante has definitely been raised.

Highlights: Santa Monica over Belmont Shore

One of the biggest surprises in club rugby last weekend was Santa Monica's win over Belmont Shore. Belmont had previously been unbeaten in SoCal and the win puts Santa Monica within distance of first place. Check out the highlights below.
