Swiryn, Test Headline Maccabiah Roster

Former Eagle Kevin Swiryn and current 7's Eagles star Zach Test headline the U.S. roster for this summer's Maccahiah Games. Also on the team is former Eagle and friend of TIAR Dallen Stanford. Prospective Eagles Gabe Adler and Taylor Howden are also on the team. Another former Eagles, Shawn Lipman, will coach the team. The Games run from July 17-30.

The games will mark the first time that Swiryn has returned to the field since retiring with persistent injury last year. Swiryn had first made his mark on the IRB Sevens Series before earning a professional contract in France with Agen. Since retiring he has moved to Seattle where he is a coach at the University of Washington. Test, as most know is a current stalwart for the U.S.A. 7's. Participating in the Games means that Test will likely miss the club 7's season in the United States.

For those who don't know, the Maccabiah Games--or the Jewish Olympics--are held every four years in Israel for Jewish athletes. The U.S. has had a long tradition of competing in rugby at the games, coming in third in 2009 and second in 2005. The team held tryouts in January at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California.

Roster: Zack Abbott, Gabe Adler, Ross Biestman, Jared Braun, David Cohen, Joel Cohen, Seth Cohen, Shawn Cox, Matthew Crawford, Aaron Davis (vice captain), Elliot Dillon-Herzog, Raymond Fleser, Taylor Howden, Joji Kurosaki, Max Levine, Guy Matisis, Tanner Mohr, James Murray, Jacob Poliakoff, Alan Roniss, William Rudman, Michael Rudzinsky, Ross Silverman, Joshua Slater, Dallen Stanford (captain), Kevin Swiryn, Zach Test, Jasper Wilson, Roman Wilson, Ilya Wortman.
