Utes Avoid Suspension, Will Play 2013 On Probation

The questions surrounding around the University of Utah rugby program have been cleared up as The Mort Report reveals that the team has successfully appealed a one-year suspension and will play the 2013 season on probation. The original suspension was a result of an incident involving a player.

The Utes participation in the Varsity Cup was likely not in question since the tournament is not sanctioned by U.S.A. Rugby, but if the team was suspended it would not be able to participate in the PAC Rugby conference or 7's events. Last year the Utes made it to the DI-A playoffs. The team features standout player Don Pati and could potential have Thretton Palamo on their roster this spring.
